I agree w/the use of mineral oil. I find it does a better job. But the other tips are spot on. Thanks. Report

Please do NOT use olive oil, or any other plant or animal oil, for cleaning! Any plant or animal oil will go rancid over time - which will ruin whatever you "cleaned" with it.

For cleaning or sealing wood or stone (including furniture, counter tops, cutting boards, or floors) use food-grade mineral oil. This can be purchased on-line, from specialty kitchen or cleaning supply stores, or in smaller containers in the pharmacy department (it is used as a laxative). Mineral oil is non-biologic and so will not turn rancid over time. Report
