In the morning, I climbed the stairs to the second story, all 674 steps. It takes about 10 minutes. Once I made it to the second floor, you take an elevator to the summit for some gorgeous views of the city. At night, it's lit up and if you're lucky, you might get to see the lights twinkle. If you've been to NYC, you'll recognize it as the torch from the Statue of Liberty. The location looked familiar and I saw a plaque. It's a famous spot in Paris, but not for the sculpture. It's where Princess Diana died in the car accident. People leave flowers as well as locks on the chains. The locks are "locks of love". Couples leave them all over Paris. Sacre Couer basilica is a gorgeous church. I stayed for a while to listen to the sisters singing hymns during service. very serene, calming. See this image largerHall of Mirrors, Versailles. Vacation Paris, I did a day bike tour with Blue Bikes to Versailles. Wonderful tour. loved biking along the palace grounds. At the end of the tour, you tour the palace. The Hall of Mirrors is spectacular, but yes. very very crowded.
