Welcome and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Siegrid and I am a foodaholic or just plain addicted to food.
I have been with Spark People since February 2008 and had gone down from 220lbs to 132lbs which was past my original goal of 140lbs. I had reached my goal by october 2008 and managed to maintain until the middle of 2010, when my Dad died. Since then I have been going uphill.. I have tried and tried to restart here, but I have failed time and time again.
So, here I am, trying again.....I hope this time I can do it.

I'm positive because I know where I am going
I'm positive I'll get there.

Yes, I have been aware for a long time about the deaf community’s opposition to the cochlear implant. They definitely have their own culture. And I think they see it as being forced to fit into the hearing world. I don’t feel any of that way, but I DO feel that the side affects can be difficult so would only view it as a last resort. IF the left hear hearing aide works, that would help me be more functional.

And it also depends on what is causing the problem in the right ear. Have had a lot of surgeries on it (7 as a kid and 2 as an adult). IF a simpler surgical alternative were offered, I’d try that. But we shall see. Still doing my research, too.

Our community has a giving tree similar to that as well. Choose a child’s name and you buy a gift(s) for them. IT’s nice.

I am sorry for the situation your DD was put in w/the other co-owner, but glad that now she’ll have her best friend as co-owner. That’s awesome.

Hope you have had a good Wednesday!

Wednesday: Had a chance to relax yesterday, which felt good. Clara did stop by in the afternoon. She looks good. Kitty is doing well, thankfully.

Have to make a grocery store run tomorrow, but that’s about all the chores for today. Otherwise, just some deep cleaning to get ready for the holiday.

Hope all is well. Happy Wednesday.

Tuesday: Well, a mixed bag of results. My left ear has mild to moderate hearing loss. Most probably a hearing aide would help that a lot. The right ear . . . . sigh . . . different story. I have moderate to profound hearing loss in that ear. Most likely a hearing aide would NOT help that ear. I figured that so that didn’t come as a shock. I have to weigh medical options and will get some surgical options when I return to Mayo on 27 December. The last thing on the list for my left ear is a cochlear implant. THAT I am not going to do unless there really are no other options that are helping. So, that’s my news.

Hope you all had a good Monday. Exhausted right now.

I do start my Christmas shopping early. Usually in the summer. The only problem with that is you have to remember where you hid everything. emoticon I've come across little things months or a year later emoticon Doing it a bit at a time is easier on the wallet.

Happy Tuesday. We are expecting rain starting tonight and through the next 3 days. Hope we don't wash away. emoticon
