My main goal is to be healthy. I don't have a lot of weight to lose, but it seems very difficult for me to do that now. I know age has something to do with that, and I also have hypothyroidism. Nothing is impossible with the right attitude and determination. "I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me."
The person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse.

Personal Information:
I live on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. I have 6 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren. I enjoy reading, crocheting, cooking, and gardening, and being with family. I enjoy living where we can enjoy the 4 seasons and the different beauties each one brings. I live on a small farm in a very rural area. We have some angus cows, some goats, and a doberman who thinks she is the boss. I am a retired school teacher having taught kindergarten the last several years. I love God and church is important to me. For several years, I was the church pianist. After my first husband died, I remarried. I moved to a different church and don't play now, but I sing in the choir and occasionally sing a solo. I took a few art classes and enjoy doing acrylics. I've also done some watercolor and pastels. This has become a great release for me

Other Information:
I went skydiving for my 72nd birthday. Would love to do again.
I have no support at home and rely on Spark Friends for encouragement and support.

Optimism is an expectation of the future, but hope is a way of experiencing the present. Optimism argues with the predictions of cynicism and bitterness, and is often proved wrong. Hope rejects cynicism and bitterness as unhelpful, and is perennially proved right. - Doug Muder

I hope you are doing well.

Top o’ the mornin’ to ye! It’s the Friday before St Patrick’s Day so let’s have a wee bit o’ Irish humor to start off the weekend right!

An Irish priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding.
The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest’s breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car.
He says, “Father, have you been drinking?”
    “Just water,” says the priest.
The trooper looks him in the eye and says, “Then why do I smell wine?”
The priest looks down at the bottle and says, “Good Lord! He’s done it again!”

Gallagher opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend Finney.
“Did you see the paper?!” asked Gallagher. “They say I died!!”
“Yes, I saw it!” replied Finney. “So where are ye callin’ from?”

Why does it take five Irishmen to change a lightbulb?
One to change the bulb. Four to remark about how grand the old bulb was.

How can you tell if an Irishman is having a good time?
    He's Dublin over with laughter!

Why are so many leprechauns florists?
    They have green thumbs!

How is a good friend like a four-leaf clover?
    They’re hard to find!

I am so glad I found you here on Spark People!!! Enjoy your weekend!
