I'm preparing to have spinal fusion surgery, but first I need to lose as much weight as possible. Most of my medications preventing my body from destroying itself and keeping me from being completely miserable unfortunately also cause weight gain. I am now hoping to wean myself of the meds temporarily in hopes that I can lose enough weight to make my surgery and year long recovery easier. I can't really change my diet at this point, I'm already vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free except from fruit & have eliminated almost all processed foods. Not sure what else I can do there. My exercise program is severely restricted. No standing, walking, running, jumping, climbing, twisting, bending... so basically it's always an arm day.

My Goals:
Lose enough weight to lower the risks of surgery & to make my recovery easier so that I can hopefully be able to walk again & have fun & go places with my children again.

Weight Goals & Reward:
10 lb - 3/12/17 - new weight gloves
20 lb - 3/27/17 - new thick yoga mat
30 lb - 4/19/17 - fancy scale that measures body fat & muscle % among other things
40 lb - 4/30/17 - 10, 12, 15, 20, 25 & 30 pound dumbbell set and rack
50 lb - 5/12/17 - recumbent exercise bike
60 lb - 6/9/17 - TV Stand/cabinet
70 lb - 6/25/17 - TV
80 lb - 7/15/17 - KitchenAid 7 qt pro mixer
90 lb - 8/15/17 -


My Program:
Rowing. Seated arm exercises. recumbent bike
Strength training with weights, resistance bands, body weight & medicine ball.
Yoga.
Temporarily stop medication that have weight gain as a side effect.



Personal Information:
Full-time mother, chef & teacher to my pack of wild things.
