6 Accessories You Need Before Exercising in the Sun

Unfortunately, you can't "roll-over" workouts like you can phone minutes. To stay in shape, lose weight or maintain weight, you have to do the work and do the work often. I fill my water bottle about 1/3 or 1/2 full and freeze overnight. Fill in morning the rest with water just before my outdoor workout. It keeps me cool and the water stays cool longer. Report

A cooling towel is a must for me, and sorry, but that little 7 oz bottle is definitely not gonna cut it in the type of humidity and heat we have here. I use either a 40 oz hydro flask or a 1 liter hydration pack, depending on what type of activity. Report

I have a great hat and it only cost me $13. You need a drink and god shoes and socks and then you can walk into the hills and back. Once though I walked 6 miles from home and then it started to pour. The heavens opened up and and I really thought I'd soon have to swim the rest of the way home. The two dogs and I were so soaked we just yelled for hubby to bring a stack of towels at the door. Nothing I could have done would have helped but it is an interesting memory. Report

Here are two that I could not live without:

1) Frogg Togg cooling towel (I wet it, wring out any excess and wear it around my neck)

2) H2Cool water bottle (comes with a mister, so I just make sure to put ice cubes in with the water, or fill the bottle up with water and place in freezer for an hour or so) Report

@SOFT_VAL67 - Not everyone has a vitamin D deficiency and some people, like me, live in areas where the UV index reaches extreme levels almost every day. Prolonged exposure to UV radiation can cause skin cancer, premature ageing, DNA damage, eye damage and immunosuppression. It's best to avoid exercising outdoors between 10-4 but if you don't have that option it's good to know ways to protect yourself from the heat and UV radiation.

So I would add sunglasses with UVA/UVB protection to this list if you are exercising outside. They don't need to be high end I have a cheap pair with plastic frames that protect my eyes. Report

why would anyone want to block out the rays of the HEALTHY sunlight???you need vitamin d to thrive.
do some research and find healthy natural alternatives to the chemical laden sunscreens that will block your ability to produce vitamin d. and limit your time in the direct sunlight to a healthy amount. this is my personal opinion based on my own vitamin d deficiency syndrome. you would rather deal with a little sunburn than broken bones due to low vitamin d....believe me.
